If you’re reading this, you are probably already aware of the quality of Steinway pianos.
Pianists dream their whole lives of one day owning a Steinway grand.
Here is a unique opportunity to purchase an amazing Steinway grand at a lower that usual price point.
First I’d like to point out that this 1983 model structurally and mechanically perfect.
The strings, tuning pins, plate, soundboard and bridges truly look brand new.
The action is in amazing shape with several components also looking brand new.
This piano feels and sounds as good as it did when it left the factory back in 1983 (Okay, I wasn’t there in 83, but this piano does sound amazing).
The cabinet condition is what is giving this model M a heavy discount.
There are virtually no large dings or scratches, but there is some sun fading on the bass side of the cabinet and under the fly lid.
The lacquer is in great shape, but the pigment of the wood under the lacquer has been lightened by uv exposure.
The uv exposure has not weakened or compromised the pianos veneer, cabinet or soundboard in any way.
I am hyper critical of cabinet finishes, so this sun fading to me is likely a much bigger deal than it is for you.
In fact, several people have come through the shop as I was working on this and commented on how beautiful they thought the cabinet was.
If this M had a perfect walnut or satin ebony finish, given how immaculate the internals are, would retail somewhere in the mid $30k.
I have reached out to my refinisher and essentially got a place in line for this piano to be refinished ( I have not decided on a color yet).
However, given his backlog, it is going to take a couple of months before he can bring this one in.
In the meantime, I am offering this M for sale at a substantial discount.
It will still look stunning in your living room and the sun fading is almost entirely hidden when the lid is up and the straight side of the piano is facing a wall (a popular placement option in most living rooms).
