Grotrian Steinweg (now known as *Grotrian in the USA due to a Steinway and Sons lawsuit) is upon the finest piano manufacturers in Germany.
Originally founded in Germany by Henry Steinway (then known as Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg), Grotrian Steinweg has been manufacturing top tier pianos since 1835.
Although they don’t have the same name recognition here in the USA when compared to Steinway and Sons, Grotrian Steinweg now produces some of the most expensive instruments in the world with quality rivaling the best manufacturers in the business.
This 160 model was originally purchased in France and then moved here to the USA sometime in the last few decades.
When I received the piano it was definitely in need of some substantial work, but there was a lot of potential there, so I decided to pull the trigger on a restoration.
