Seattle’s Best Used Piano Store

Specializing In Expertly Refurbished Yamaha, Kawai and Steinway Pianos

Seattle Piano Co - Expertly Refurbished Yamaha Pianos

While there are many excellent piano brands out there, nearly every piano at Seattle Piano Company is a Yamaha, and that’s by design. As a piano technician with two decades of hands-on experience, I’ve worked on just about every make and model, from vintage American uprights to top-tier European concert grands.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of preparing and maintaining everything from Steinway Model Bs to high-end Fazioli instruments. But it was Yamaha’s handcrafted S Series and CF Series concert grands that changed everything for me. Their consistency, engineering, and musicality set a new standard.

Yamaha pianos, whether it's a compact upright or a world class concert grand are exceptionally well built at every level. Their design and reliability make them a dream to service and a joy to play. That’s why I’ve chosen to focus exclusively on used Yamaha pianos.

I believe that to truly excel at what you do, you have to love what you’re working with. That passion is what drives me to deliver the best instruments I can. I founded Seattle Piano Company with a clear goal: to offer what I believe are the best pianos in the world at prices that make sense.

If you're looking for a high quality used Yamaha piano in Seattle, Bellevue, or anywhere in the country, you’re in the right place.

A few things to note about Seattle Piano Company…

There are a few things that make Seattle Piano Company a little different.

Seattle Piano Company is owned and operated by me, Aaron Firpo.
I’ve spent most of my life working with pianos, and refurbishing them has become my life’s passion. I started this store for a few reasons: first, I wanted to spend my days working on pianos in a cool old brick building; second, I wanted to focus on just a select group of high-quality manufacturers; and third, I wanted to create a piano store that offers beautifully restored instruments at prices that make sense.

These days, my attention is almost entirely focused on Yamaha pianos.
After working on just about every major make over the years—from Steinways to Bösendorfers—I’ve found Yamaha’s designs to be the most consistent, well-built, and enjoyable to service. Whether it's a U1 upright or a handcrafted CF concert grand, Yamaha pianos deliver incredible performance across every model tier. That’s why nearly every piano I sell is a used Yamaha.

We don’t have commission-based salespeople. It’s just me.
While most stores try to be low pressure, I’m probably low pressure to a fault. I’d love to sell you a piano, but more than anything, I want you to find the right one. If I don’t have it, I’ll gladly refer you to other trusted shops in the area who might. My goal is for you to end up with an instrument you truly connect with—whether it comes from me or not.

Our used Yamaha pianos look, sound, and play beautifully.
Every piano we sell goes through an intensive refurbishing process, both cosmetic and mechanical. This is not just a touch-up or light servicing. For some pianos, it’s a full restoration, often involving disassembly, cabinet work, action rebuilding, hammer shaping, regulation, and voicing. It’s not the cheapest way to run a piano store, but I do this level of work because I care deeply about the craftsmanship and the end result.

We also happen to have a really cool space.
Our store is located in a 100-year-old building with original brick walls that rise over 40 feet. It’s full of character and history. There’s a prop from Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo hanging from one of the beams, the remains of an old pulley system still bolted near the ceiling, and—if you’re lucky—our shop pug, Pizza, might be there to greet you.

That’s Seattle Piano Co in a nutshell.
If you’re looking for a high-quality used Yamaha piano in the Seattle, Bellevue are, or shipped to just about anywhere in the U.S.—feel free to give me a call or book an appointment through the site. Thanks for visiting.

Used Pianos

Seattle Piano Company is a Yamaha-focused used piano store serving Seattle, Bellevue, and the greater Pacific Northwest. Nearly all of our inventory consists of high-quality used Yamaha pianos, handpicked and imported directly from a top-tier refurbishing facility in Hamamatsu, Japan—Yamaha’s hometown and manufacturing hub.

Each piano undergoes a meticulous restoration process overseas, followed by additional regulation, voicing, and final prep work here in our Seattle shop. The result is a used Yamaha piano that looks, sounds, and plays like new—at a fraction of the cost of buying new.

Piano Consignment

While we don’t typically accept consignments, we occasionally make exceptions for well-maintained Yamaha pianos or exceptional European and American-made instruments. If you believe you have something that fits, feel free to email us with photos and a brief description.

If you’re looking for a premium used Yamaha piano in Seattle or Bellevue, we’d love to help you find the right one.

Trust and Accountability

""We understand that buying a piano, new or used is a substantial investment. There is a lot of information out there, but much of it is filled with conflicting views on what exactly constitutes a good quality piano. Here at Seattle Piano Company we take great pride in the pianos we sell, and the condition that we sell them in. We are happy to openly discuss any details about the pianos in our store. Our showroom environment is one of low pressure, cander, and enthusiasm. We are happy to remove panels to show the condition of the internal moving action parts of our pianos, and explain how they work. At the very least, we hope that you leave our store armed with better knowledge of how a piano works, and the vital things to look for when searching for the perfect piano for you."
